Our electrical team has been working closely with a local school to upgrade their lighting to LED alternatives throughout the premises.
This upgrade improves their energy efficiency rating and helps save on their energy bills throughout the year. This is achieved because LED bulbs use up to 90% less energy than incandescent bulbs and can last up to 25 times longer, resulting in less frequent bulb replacements, lower maintenance costs, and less waste.
Our electrical team have been on site to supply and install:
- 5ft twin LED fittings in the office, 5ft LED suspension lights in the corridors, 5ft vapour proof LED fittings to the laundry room and low glare LED lighting to classrooms
- Replacement grid ceiling tiles, with removal and disposal of old fluorescent light fittings
- Slim LED flood lights to the perimeter of the building and external LED half lantern fittings
- A new feed in metal conduit from the distribution board to outside emergency light fittings, an emergency key switch and emergency lights throughout
- Remote PIR sensors with switches to override operation of all LED flood lights
- Microwave sensor LED light fittings to corridors
- Emergency lighting microwave sensor light to toilets with emergency key switch to replace existing light switch
By switching to LED lighting, this school is also getting ahead of the potential supply issues that could start to affect commercial spaces as certain fluorescent tubes and halogen capsule lamps are phased out.
