Defib Install by TS Electrical

Do all schools have to have a defibrillator?

The DfE announced that by the end of the academic year 2022/2023, all schools in England should have at least one Defibrillator on the premises.

Defibrillators are devices that can deliver a high-energy electric shock to the heart of someone who is having a cardiac arrest to restore the normal rhythm of the heart. According to the British Heart Foundation, there are around 30,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests in the UK every year, and only one in 10 people survive. However, if a defibrillator is used within three to five minutes of a cardiac arrest, the chance of survival increases by over 40%.

This is why the government has announced that all state-funded schools in England will have at least one defibrillator on site. The government estimated that around 20,000 defibrillators will be needed to cover all state-funded schools in England and has committed to funding the device.

But there’s a catch – the Government is not paying for the installation of the defibrillators, which needs to be carried out by a NICEIC qualified electrician. That’s where we come in. We know how important it is to have these devices ready and working in case of an emergency. That’s why we’re offering a special discount for schools that need to install their defibrillators before the end of the year.
